Well, as I said in the last report, the water is high and stained. If you love fishing enough, you know that I am speaking in code that means throw streamers!!
Remember, as long as they run the sluice gate, there will not be a big drop in the water levels once the generators are off. We only saw a drop of about 3 feet on Saturday. This makes for very limited wading, but it is still a possibility if you are careful and you do not go alone! I highly recommend floating the river, and even in higher water conditions, be smart!
There is currently not a schedule online that I have found as to the Sluicing schedule, that just means that we as anglers need to lobby for such a thing, I will be doing more research on the matter, and will post whatever I find that can help out.
If you go to the Caney: float it and break out the sinking lines, sink tips, and big nasty streamers.
Be safe, leave it cleaner than you found it!
