Adam and I were able to make it to the Caney with the water being lower than it has been in this seemingly eternal winter. The boat had been sitting all week since I brought it back from Florida, and I just could not take it any longer. After hustling to grab the boat and the 8 weights, we were running upstream from Happy in the not-terribly-warm wind. The fishing turned out to be casting practice, with little to no activity other than Adam having 2 nice strikes that he was nowhere near ready for.  Overall it was a great day to run the boat and get acquainted with it,  as well as get us fired up for spring! Stay tuned for more, if the weather warms up any we will be seeing a lot more time on the water……
